Jackson signature artist Scott Ian and his wife, Pearl Aday, welcomed their first child on Sunday, June 19 at 10:19 a.m. The Anthrax axeman shared his emotions on Twitter, posting that it was the “happiest day of my life.”
Ian also reported to Blabbermouth.net that his wife and newborn Revel Young Ian are “doing brilliantly.”
Since the newborn was due in July during Anthrax’s summer tour, Ian prearranged for Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser to fill in for him for 11 shows while he devoted time to his family. At this point, it is not clear whether Ian will still have Kisser play or not.
Ian is making headlines elsewhere, too. The August edition of metal magazine Decibel features a special gatefold cover with Ian depicted as a cartoon in the magazine’s take on comics and metal. Check out the cover here.
