Anthrax's Scott Ian and Charlie Benante Discuss New Track "Judas Priest"

Anthrax axeman and Jackson signature artist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante recently caught up with Noisecreep to talk about “Judas Priest,” a new track off their upcoming album Worship Music.

Although the track is not actually about Judas Priest, Ian said this track is Anthrax’s tribute to the metal icons because its style is very heavy metal.

“The riffs in that song were so, just, overtly heavy metal-sounding, and it stuck,” Ian told Noisecreep. “And then it kind of opened this door to me lyrically that I hadn’t opened in a long time, where I just wrote the most over the top, like, heavy metal style lyrics. I don’t think I’ve ever really written that way.”

Worship Music is due September 14.
