This just in: U.S. thrash metal’s celebrated Big Four have announced that they’ve just added to their scheduled list of historic concert appearances with a July 3, 2011, performance in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Scandinavia is an especially vital metal stronghold, and so shred fans throughout the icy vastness of Northern Europe will undoubtedly be delighted to welcome the Big Four—Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax—to Swedish soil. The July 3 Gothenburg appearance comes several weeks after the Big Four’s sole North American appearance on April 23 in Southern California.
On July 3, the Big Four will play Gothenburg’s Ullevi, which is the largest stadium in Scandinavia with a concert capacity of 60,000.
The Big Four first shook metaldom in summer 2010 with a series of European Sonisphere festival shows that saw all four bands performing together on one stage for the first time ever.
