Thousands of metal fans honored late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray during the Sonisphere Festival 2011 in Knebworth, England, on July 10. The massive crowd fell into complete silence for two minutes as Slipknot and festival organizers honored Gray before the band closed the festival with a spectacular and emotional set. It was the band’s first U.K. appearance since Gray’s death in May 2010.
Gray’s bass, jumpsuit and mask were placed center stage as singer Corey Taylor and percussionist Shawn Crahan stood together at the side of the stage.
