Dave Sharman Drops New Video for ‘Hunger’

With his latest album Evolution Machine, which comes out this week, British guitar virtuoso Dave Sharman took over vocal duties for the first time.

The champion of the checkerboard-painted guitar has also released a video for the record’s second single, a funk-rock track called “Hunger.”

In the clip, Sharman showcases his red-and-white and blue-and-white Jackson axes.

Megadeth Posts New Studio Updates, Finishes Recording

Megadeth announced on their official website that they have finished recording their 14th studio album.

“Megadeth has officially finished the recording process of the new album, Super Collider, scheduled to be released in June 2013. Dave Mustaine sang the very last note on the album earlier today at Vic’s Garage studio. The next step in the process is to finish mixing the album,” the band posted.

Pyrithion Drops Debut Lyric Video

When Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying began looking to form a heavier metal band, he recruited guitarists Ryan Glisan from Allegaeon and Andy Godwin from The Famine and Embodyment.

Now, after a short amount of time working together, Pyrithion has their debut EP The Burden of Sorrow set to drop April 16.

As a teaser, Pyrithion has released a lyric video for the track “The Invention of Hate.”

Veil of Maya’s Marc Okubo Chats with Groovey.TV

Marc Okubo of Chicago death metallers Veil of Maya sat down with Groovey.TV at the 2013 NAMM Show to talk about his gear and what’s been going on with the band.

Having released Eclipse in 2012, Veil of Maya is set to embark on a North American tour on March 29 supporting Parkway Drive, along with the World Alive and While She Sleeps.

“You can expect some new material from us, and hopefully we’ll hit a town near you,” Okubo said, noting that the band might put out an EP this year and wait until 2014 for a full-length.
