Having recently wrapped up their stint as direct support on Killswitch Engage’s Disarm the Descent tour, Miss May I is again hitting the road, this time with Five Finger Death Punch.
To commemorate the end of their run with Killswitch Engage, Miss May I released the final installment of their video tour diary, which includes live footage of the band.
Five Finger Death Punch’s The Wrong Side of Heaven tour starts Sept. 17 in Medford, Ore., and runs through Oct. 26. in Lubock, Texas.
“The Killswitch Engage tour was one hell of a way to spend our summer. Playing packed venues all over America and Canada with some of our favorite bands was a blast,” said Miss May I bassist Ryan Neff. ”It was great to see all the metal heads out there banging their heads with us. See you again this fall with Five Finger Death Punch .”
The Summer Slaughter Tour stopped at West Hollywood’s House of Blues over the weekend, and Revocation helped the event live up to its billing as the “most brutal tour of the summer.”
The Massachusetts-based quartet amped up the energy when they came out on stage around 5:30.
Summer Slaughter features a lineup that is headed by prog metal acts like Dillinger Escape Plan and Animals as Leaders, but Revocation’s brand of thrash and technical death metal was a solid changeup. And the band had a passionate fan base in the venue, too, as several Revocation T-shirts and patches were spotted throughout the day. Continue reading →
Walking into West Hollywood’s House of Blues last weekend for the Summer Slaughter Tour, it was impossible to miss the large amount of Periphery T-shirts on fans milling about the venue.
The band’s fanbase among the progressive metal scene has obviously grown nationwide, due to their heavy leanings and soaring vocals. Those in attendance at Summer Slaughter’s Los Angeles stop were thusly rewarded with a high-energy performance that drew heavily from their acclaimed 2012 album Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal.
The brainchild of guitarist Misha Mansoor, Periphery features two other axmen on stage (Jake Bowen and Mark Holcomb), along with singer Spencer Sotelo, drummer Matt Halpern and bassist Adam “Nolly” Getgood.
Each of Periphery’s guitarists was mesmerizing, as seeing such impressive and complex fretwork seems almost unreal when watching live. Continue reading →
De La Tierra has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their debut album, and the all-star group recently gave fans a look behind the scenes with a set of in-studio videos.
Made up of Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), Álex González (Maná), Flavio Cianciarulo (Los Fabulosos Cadillacs) and Andrés Giménez (D-mente, A.N.I.M.A.L.), De La Tierra is working with Stanley Soares, a longtime Sepultura collaborator.
As they prepare to hit the road on the 2013 Summer Slaughter Tour, Revocation has released a new song off their upcoming self-titled album, which is due Aug. 6.
Having already dropped “The Hive” earlier this year, the latest track is titled “Invidious.” As frontman Dave Davidson noted in a previous Jackson Q&A, there was going to be a track off Revocation featuring a banjo, and it seems like “Invidious” is the one.
Check out both “The Hive” and “Invidious” below and click here to pre-order the album.
During a weekend stop in Dallas for Gigantour, Megadeth was joined on stage by an all-star cast to play a searing cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Cold Sweat.”
Megadeth actually included a version of “Cold Sweat” on their latest album Super Collider, but the addition of Slash, Zakk Wylde, Jason Newsted, Vinnie Paul and David Draiman made for a truly special moment.
As Gigantour rolls on, Megadeth has been busy, booking interviews and signing sessions in several of the cities they’ve visited. For one, Megadeth scheduled a charity softball game this week in Oklahoma City, Okla., that will benefit those affected by the deadly tornados that ripped through the area in May.
In addition, bassist David Ellefson recently chatted with Jay Smith of Pollstar about his career and what’s been going on with the band.
Click here for the entire interview and check out fan footage of the star-studded “Cold Sweat” after the jump. Continue reading →
