Ellefson “Mega Bass” Column Debuts in July Guitar World

The premier edition of Megadeth bassist and Jackson signature artist David Ellefson’s “Mega Bass” column appears in the July 2011 issue of Guitar World magazine.

His first column, “Broadening Horizon,” focuses on increasing musicality through diversity, and includes bass riffs from “Peace Sells.” Here’s an excerpt:

This month, I’d like to talk about how playing diverse styles of music can help you improve your musical abilities. In my opinion, there are certain skills that can never be emphasized enough—technique, timing, playing well with other musicians, and the art of listening. But I’m also constantly reminded that versatility is a vital part of our craft, regardless of the genre(s) we may prefer to play in.

The July GW hits newsstands May 31; further information available soon at www.guitarworld.com.
