Hi all, I have a fantastic 80s custom shop san dimas model, with scalloped Finger board, but also has a single emg 81, I dint suppose anyone knows if this pickup could be the original, as I don't see to many jackson with the emg Inc afterburner, with the wear etc it's definitely from that period, thanks in advance

It very well could be the original.. You could order your custom with any pickup/electronic combination you could dream up back then.. If you are really curious, pull the afterburner pot out and see if there is finish in the hole drilled through the body (if it is finished, the hole was made before paint, if the wood is bare, it was added after the finish, meaning it was installed later).
