How can I see that I am getting the correct guitar model when I go to buy one ?

the number is either on the last fret look carfully or if its a two piece look on the back where the two peices are bolted together.

I may be wrong but I thought only certain jacksons have a stamp on the last fret. I know the usa models do for sure and and its easier to find out information on that exact axe. Most asian guitars these days have the vin# painted on back next to the country it was made! but not sure about jackson. Most import guitars dont have a way to find out the date of birth...
