Forgive if this topic has been covered but searches were unsuccessful.
I recently did some trading and picked up a Kelly KE3. While admiring it I found the word USED stamped into the tip of the head on the back. Not ink stamped, actually depressed into the wood. Aside from the obvious defacing I found it interesting that the only other time I've seen this was on another Jackson. Does anyone have a clue about this?

In the interest of answering the question for future readers. I found that this stamp is used my MIRC Musical Inst. reclamation company of Franklin, TN. MIRC buys factory 2nds, over runs, and over stock from US and over seas manufacturers. They inspect, repair, or refinish each item and resell it. The USED stamp on the head stock along with a removed or incomplete serial number is done by MIRC in order to prevent warranty work going back to the manufacturer. I have contacted the company and hope to provide more info in the future.
