I have a pair of Kent Armstrong's hot vintage pickups in my jazz bass. He has a very solid reputation in vintage pickups.

If you like the clear, chime-y, twangy vintage single coil tone, I highly recommend his "Tweedtone" single coils. He makes both a neck pickup, and a reverse-polarity/reverse-wound middle pickup.
