1. USA guitars are premium guitars. That's not just true in the US but is true pretty much anywhere. It's one of the very few US-made goods that Americans get any credit and respect for. And somehow certain guitar-mkers (like Jackson) got it in their heads that higher prices = more prestigious.

2. The import have gotten too expensive to the point to where for the years since Fender took over, Jackson was simply not competing while ESP totally ate away at the market that once belonged to Jackson. BUT now the X series is a seriously competitive guitar. Dare I say it's too good for it's price range, so get one now before prices go up.

I think that Jackson should match the LTD signature models with their own such as the PC-1, Chris Broderick, Adrian Smith, Mark Morton, and Scott Ian models while still containing important features like sustainers, neck-thru construction, headstocks, and pickups.

Really i'd say jackson is well priced. I don't think it's easy to make ebony into a compound radius fretboard or at least you don't wanna fuck up cause that's an expensive piece of wood. The only thing i don't like is that some finishes make the price kinda ridiculous but they are hand airbrushed. that pile of skulls graphic you saw probably wasn't on a USA cause i have that on a pro series so of course the lower end guitars won't be hand done. i've yet to see 2 lightning sky finishes look exactly the same.
