I'm a forum nube and I have a few questions. I own a 1990 Fusion USA (Saturn graphic) and a 2009 USA RR1. I'm looking for information regarding the maintenance of the ebony fretboards. I have heard that mineral oil, lemon oil are both great. Any preferences or recomendations?
Also, is it best to remove all of the strings? I've always replaced the strings one at a time to keep the floyd rose floating.

I've always used lemon oil. I have 3 guitars with ebony fretboards and it seems to do the job. I've never had raised fret issues. It's definately easier to wipe off excess wth all of the strings off. I prefer to let the oil set on the wood for maybe 15 minutes and then wipe of it off thoroughly. Just support the FR with a bock (wood, stack of post-its, business cards, etc...). I guess that you could do it with your old strings on, but it gets a bit tight near the nut.
