I am the only one having this issue??

No luck??

Factory QC workers are lazy??

Left one is my 9 year old Jackson USA SL1.

I bought and received another jackson USA SL1 yesterday.

I noticed that strings are off centered. compare those two pictures.

strings are perfectly centered on my 9 year old SL1. how about the brand new one??

This is not the matter that a player has to get used to it.

This guitar was built wrong and QC just passed it because easy is easy.

I can return it for a full refund but I still pay for the shipping charge.

totally waste of time and money!!!

there is no more grover jackson's pride. this is $2400 USA made Jackson build quality,

If there are future jackson buyers, just bring a ruler with you and measure every detail before you pay money.

Hey!
Sorry to see the problems with your new soloist--that is unacceptable

I feel some of your pain--I just bought a new RRXT online and it looked great untill I checked out the frets--they were uneven and popping out. Luckily I bought from a very reputable dealer and they sent me a replacement that was near perfect.

Unfortunately this seems to be the case with a lot of mass produced guitars--even ones costing $2400 +

I sold my Rhoads original 10 years ago--GREAT QUALITY--WTF was I thinking??

I DON'T think this is a problem with Jackson guitars--more a problem with our society in general--people have become very lazy and just don't care

Hope you find that next great Jackson!

I think if you're willing to spend good money on a guitar you should get a hand crafted one from a respectable luthier. Those guys are very meticulous about their work and will never be happy with building anything less than pure perfection.

I would gladly spend $3000 on this one!

This one just oozes metal! \m/ \m/

not really the best comparison considering the angle of both pics but the only issue i see is the high e string appears to be quite close to the end of the fretboard. if you're talking about the fact that the strings aren't exactly lined up with the poles that's not necessarily a guitar design flaw.
If you actually measure the distance from both e strings above the bridge pickup you'll find that it has the trembucker/F style distance of about 53mm give or take. as you go farther up the guitar the strings get closer so when you get to the neck pickup the distance is more like 48mm so if you use the same spaced pickups they'll be uneven.
You can't say the strings are off center just by looking at it this way. the best way would be to do a little math.
If they truly are off center that is a fucking disgrace and they should send you a new one without any off center strings free of shipping charges. assuming you want another one.

it looks as though the whole string set is off to the right side. Thats what I see. should be a fairly equal distence from the edge of the fretboard to the Low and high E but this whole deal if off set bad. I would demand they replace and cover shipping this is just a screwed up job.... I have an 2001 SL1 which I love, which of course it is pre-fender. I'm not sure that has anything to do with it but it may. I'm pretty sure if I buy another Jackson and I will at some point it will be a pre-fender guitar.....

Hi,
That sucks about you strings being off centre. I bought a USA King V about 8 months ago and only one side of the frets were dressed. The other side was still sharp so i had to go and get them linished. I think your right about the generation now days being lazy and not caring. Its not very professional in my opinion.

That sucks bad!!! If that came directly from Jackson SOMEBODY needs a reverse head stock up the...well, you get the picture. From everything I've read, most of the guys that were building USA models before Fender are still working for them. Now, that said, Fender could be pressuring them to produce more with less and therefore foul ups are gonna be more common. Even if Fender doesn't really care about the line, which I doubt, they seem to really be throwing a lot of money at Jackson's new image and marketing.
What kind of bridge does the new one have? Somethin just aint right when the bridge and neck don't line up right.
By the way, if you got it straight from Jackson or an authorized dealer they should replace it free of charge including shipping since there is a factory defect.
