hey guys. I'm Hamid form Iran.

and I recently got to know that the holy legendary RR24 has been discontinued!!! :o

I was really depressed when I heard the news!!

RR24 was one of the best Jacksons ever!

does anyone know what was the reason?

or is there any chance to see it back again?

Hi Lacrima,

I think the RR24 was discontinued because of the introduction of the RRXMG, which also has 24 frets and EMG pickups, with neck-through-body construction, like the RR24.

I only have two criticisms with it:

1) Only two colors (black, or white with black stripes)
2) The EMG 60 is a much better rhythm pickup than the 85 in the neck position, in my opinion.

I think the RRXMG might be a little less expensive than the RR24 was, so this is a good move, overall.

Thank you so much for your reply.

but I think there are many differences between these two!

first:

RR24 had an alder body

RRXMG has a basswood body

RR24 had Ebony fingerboard

RRXMG Rosewood

RR24=Original Floyd

RRXMG= Special Floyd

and RR24 was Made in Japan

and if I'm not mistaken RRXMG is made elsewhere!!!

so I think they could keep the RR24 while introducing RRXMG to the market!

and the last thing to say is that I can't forget that RR24 with mind blowing BLOODRED BEVELS!

Yeah the black w/bloodred bevels RR24 drives me INSANE

I think RR24 is way better than RRXMG quality wise and specs wise.

by the way! I have a weird question! :lol:

is it possible to change to color of the bridge?

I mean the whole floyd system??

by spray or anything of that sort?

No, that would be a VERY BAD IDEA. If you must, you can get the metal parts electro-plated with some sort of color, but even the thinnest coat of paint can affect the tolerance and fit of the various dozens of small metal parts. Can you paint it? Sure. Can you do so and expect it to work properly? I doubt it.

many thanks for the info.

so it's not worth trying since as you said it does affect the quality of instrument.

you know this guitar I've been dreaming about is a Jackson RR24 with blood red bevels

and blood red bridge and blood red inlays.. :o

it does sound awesome to me but I don't know if that's posible or not!

I think it was in the MG series in the past too. But where is the "white with black bevel" variant? I only saw red-black and gold-black.
