Hi everybody this is my first post on the forums. I just got a Jackson Christian Ole Wolbers signature model. Its the silver burst model. http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/profile_mojo_data/1/0/5/5/1055797/pics/_c948509_image_0.jpg
I got this guitar because it was the only Jackson guitar I could find with the features I wanted.
1 HB, 1 Knob, string through, tune o matic bridge, reverse head stock.
So after I found out a little more info on them, I then found out they were discontinued and Jackson stopped producing them a while ago. So the search was on, I looked everywhere for about a month and then a silvreburst one popped up on ebay and I got it for 700 brand new! I love it.
So I have a question about the set up. It came to me with what seemed like 9 gage strings on it.
I tune my whole guitar down half step then drop C sharp. Does anyone have any advice as far as what string gage I should go for that tuning? I was thinking 11.s?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would think .11s would work but try the .09s and see how they do and you could guess from there.

Im using ernie ball power slinky now.11-14-18-28-38-48. I'm having some issues with intonation on my 11-14-18 strings around the 12 fret though. I checked the intonation and its not that far out. Neck looks straight too. Its really weird though I think part of it may be due to the jumbo frets and how hard Im pressing on them? Causing the notes to sometimes go sharp? Does anyone think going with a lighter gage on the higher strings would help?

There are a lot of factors involved but, I play with .08s and I sometimes run into the problem with the jumbo frets. Most of the time I'm just pressing too hard. have you maxed out the saddle or fine tuner one direction or another?

I still have room to move the saddles a little but when I get the intonation right on the 12fret seems like its going sharp by the nut! (graphite nut) This guitar is string through! Tuneomatic bridge, it doesn't get any more simple. Ive set up a ton of guitars and have never run into this issue. Ive never had a reverse head stock, 24 fret neck guitar either. I think I may have to take the guitar to get a set up.
