While changing strings on the Craigslist Kelly I picked up (see other thread) I took the neck off to shed some light on the guitars pedigree.
I confirmed it was a KE3 model but was surprised to find it was a 2003 model rather than a mid 90s that was suggested.
I also confirmed it is a solid piece of Adler with a Maple top for the transparent finish.
But, what on earth do the rest of the stamps and markings mean?
And, does anything indicate where it was made? My suspicion is Japan but with the sticker missing I have no clue and of course the 2003 catalog was mum on the subject.
Maybe someone has the answers.

yours should be made in Japan. I don't think they ever produced the Pro-series in Korea. I own a 2008 KE-3 and it has the MIJ sticker on as well.

That was my thinking as well. There was no sticker when I got it and it came through MIRC cause it has the USED stamp on the back of the head. They change out the neck plates with the serial number as well.

Those are how they identify models. KE3 is the model other is a date.

The 6-1 prolly a run number or something.

Thats a Japanese Kelly. Jackson has had nothing made in Korea. ALways been Japan till the JS series came about. Those are India. as well as the new X series. Also India.

The new Elite series are mirrors of the old high end Pros from the early 90's and those are also Made in Japan.
