Howdy folks, the head stock on my Jackson DXMG has busted right at the tunner for the high E. How do I go about getting a replacement neck? The guys at guitar center said I would have to send Jackson my guitar and have them fix/replace the neck. Is this true?

any help would be great. I cant live without my axe!

As far as I know, Jackson does not offer replacement necks.. If it has to be repaired, any qualified luthier should be able to make that repair. Your only other option would be to search E Bay and find one that has been parted out..

I would first check to see if it's under warranty and if it covers the damage. Chances are in either event they will suggest taking it to an authorized Jackson repair center. If your not the original owner or it's not covered I would say ebay, craigslist, or an online source will get you hooked up. the sad part is you could probably do it yourself with some wood glue and clamps.

First post here, but I thought I could help.

Jackson do supply replacement necks as I'm waiting for one for my PC1 at the moment.

However, they only do like for like so if you do order a neck you can't specify a different fingerboard wood or different shaped headstock.

Your PC1 is Made In USA, and the DXMG is made in Japan, so there is a vast difference there alone.. And if you are the original owner of said PC1, you are covered from defect via the lifetime warranty.. Most headstock breaks where he describes his are due to an accident of some sort and not a defect.. Usually a fall or a drop that hits on the tuning key for the e string causes this to happen..

Thanks for the replys. No its no longer under warranty, that ran out about 2yrs ago. And the break was do to a fall. My 4ry old took a run and jumped into my chair witch inturn slamed into my axe into the wall then smashed into the tile floor. :(

I think I will give the wood glue and clamps a try. This is my first Jackson and it kills me to see it all busted up because it plays like a dreem. But now that I find out its not made in America i'm not "that" upset anymore. I think i'll just upgrade to the soloist or mayby check out the custom shop and then gift this on to one of my sons.
