So, I've been checking out that JS23 Dinky, and decided to get one. It's a pretty good bang for the buck, I've listened to some demos, and it looks like the neck is really slick and fast and all that. And I LOVE natural wood.
The only thing that concerns me is the bridge. It doesn't look reliable for some reason. I'm guessing it's Jackson house gear, just like the pickups. I don't really use the whammy bar a lot, so I wouldn't mind if the action of it is not especially good - but what I worry about is the tuning. Is "fulcrum" Jackson bridge capable of holding the tuning? Some low-end fulcrums are known to mess with the tuning all the time. Spot-on pitch is really important to me. So, JS series owners, can you please tell me your opinion on this? I really want to get this Dinky, but not if I'll have a lot of trouble with a (possibly) shitty bridge afterwards. Thank you.

Hi
I dont have one of those, but i know those bridges, so...

Like any bridge without loking nut, it may go out of tune if you use the bridge as a tremolo. Even a usa fender strat will go the same.

For exemple, an ltd m10, that is esp's most cheap model, comes with a fixed bridge. Personaly, i dont know if jackson shouldn't use fixed bridges in this cheap js's too. But if you use this dinky's bridge as fixed you wont have tunning problems, and also guives you the option to do [u]some[u] of the efects you can do with a floyd rose :!: , like playng a natural harmonic and use the bar to do cool heavy metal effects. However you probably will go out oof tune :o , so i just recomend you do this when recording or at the end of a gig.

It's a cool guitar, i think you will like it! ;)

Thanks for the reply!

Well, that's kinda what I thought. In fact, I don't even use the whammy bar itself that much, so I would mostly use it as a fixed bridge. :D
I know that even top tremolo bridges like Floyd are known to mess up the tuning. This one (at least on the photo) seemed particularly unreliable and cheap.
Well, you helped me decide. I'm getting it. Thanks! ;)

i can tell ya from experince your right... i own one and is one of my main guitars..at first i ran into afw problems..i dont use the whammy myself so what i did was lower the action how i want it..adjusted afew screws in the trem and add an extra spring or two and took the bar out since i dont use it anyway..after that you shouldnt have a problem mine stays in tune just fine... now go get better pick-ups for your self

Thanks!
As far as the pickups go, I'm planning to leave the two singles where they are, pull out the bridge humbucker and replace it with Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader. I'm also gonna lower the action some more (although I've heard it's pretty low as it is), so it's going to scream.
