I have a Jackson RRXMG with emg's. The ring that holds the pickup in is chipped at the corner where the nail is screwed in. Anywhere I can get a new one????

Any decent guitar store should be able to get hold of a new one for you, they're a standardised item so you don't need to try and pick up a genuine Jackson one or anything, any generic brand is fine. You can probably find them on ebay too

Alright because I called guitar center and they didn't have any for jacksons! Only for les Paul's. However I did find some on this other website but I also heard emgs are slightly bigger pickups. Is this true??

Naa, all major pickup brands use standardised sizing, otherwise it would be a huge pain in the arse to change pickups. I just did a quick ebay search for "pickup mounting ring" and got 147 results so maybe that's your best bet.

No worries bro, any time :D. One thing to note, the mounting rings for Les Pauls and other similar guitars are a little different because they need be curved on the bottom to accomodate the carved top. As long as you stay away from those everything else should be fine.

Maybe a new thread would be the go man, as I have absolutely no idea how that could be happening lol. I've never had that happen to me or heard of it happening to anyone else so I'm no help. Gremlins maybe?

Me either lol it hasn't happened for a while but it used to unscrew itself an inch out of the body every time I played but when I went to screw it the pickup would come up and hit the estring because the g b and e string for somereason have a lower and lower string height as you go down the strings maybe it's to contour the neck??? But anyways when I tightened the pickup screw in it would obviously raise the pickup but I couldn't screw it in far because as soon as I did the pickup would touch the high e. I finally got it to stay so I hope I won't be having anymore problems! But this has actually happened on my les Paul style guitar as well so must be a wierd thing that just happens to me lol.

That sounds really wierd dude. Might be an idea to take it to a guitar shop or tech and just get them to take a look as I'm pretty sure that shouldn't be happening
