Hi!

I am a fan of quartersawn necks. Now the thing is I thought I knew the matter of fact that except the new Elite series along with the USA select series, Jackson guitars do not feature quartersawn hard maple necks...up until i have got the reply below, for a SL3MG guitar on ebay:

QUESTION: Dear rockystreetsounds,

hello. i liked the guitar and all but im sure these are not quartersawn but only new elite series and he usa made ones are. please confirm. thank you.

REPLY: our specs come from jackson

- rockystreetsounds

If you do a qucik search on google, you will see that some other music shops too advertised sl3mg with quartersawn neck.

I would appreciate a reply! Thanks

If the person responding does not know with absolute certainty, they will not provide a concrete answer because of the liabilities they assume through Ebay.. If you check the specs through other authorized dealers they are also conflictive, and there seems to be little on Jackson's site about them.. I would assume they are quarter sawn like all other Jackson necks, but we all know what that gets you..

yeah only 2-3 more of the dealers state its quartersawn. and the info is the same with the ebay guy. I am actually thinking there may be a huge misleading stuff going since really only the high end usa stuffs are 1\4 sawn (and the new elite series). if any jackson guy can response, we would all know the truth but from my experiences, jackson NEVER responses their customers*.

*source: myself, as having owned 3 jacksons in the past. tried to contact 4-5 times in the last 2-3 years.

Just out of curiosity, why are you particular about how the timber has been milled? I wouldn't have thought it would make that much difference.

cause quartersawn necks are a lot less prone to warpage.theyre strong and as far as we are told, they tranfer vibration better. but of course no company will reveal the "facts". if you know what I mean...
