Hi everyone!
My crappy old Gigbag (not from Jackson) for my KVXMG and my KVXT finally got ruined yesterday.. Now i'm looking forward to buy the Jackson DLX Multifit Gigbag in hope to get a reliable gigbag for my two guitars. I didn't find any reviews of the gigbag, so i hope some of you have made experiences with this bag and could tell me if this is a good gigbag or not. How is the quality? How well is the guitar secured in the bag? Is it comfortable to walk with it on your back?

Please let me know ;)

some times the gigbag is good(lighter to carry) for example going back and forth the place u practise whit band etc(if u walk there)i kinda prefer gigbag for my kv2 over th 10kg hard case i have for it....but if i travel via car etc then hard case cause u cant be sure it wont move around in the car and get hit by sumthing :P

Is that the bag they ship with the JS series guitars now? If so, it's fantastic. I had one for my JS32 Rhoads before it got stolen and it was by far the best soft case/gig bag I've ever owned. While not nearly as durable as the flight case I have for my RR3 I'd actually like to pick up another one because they so much more compact and easier to transport than a V-shaped hard case.

First of all, thanks for your replies!! :D

I know the hardcase is protecting the guitar X times better than a gigbag, but whats the value of X? How much more is the guitar protected by a hardcase compared to a gigbag?

^Thats one point i was thinking about too.. but i'm not sure if i'd like to buy 2 hardcases and 2 gigbags for both guitars, just because either the hardcase or the gigbag is fitting better for different situations.

Hellzerker: How often do you use the hardcase, or how often do you use the gigbag?

if id say a 2 week period i usualy (might wary if rain i go by car etc variants) but "normaly gig bag 4 times in that time and hard case prolly once but if the weigth between hard case and gigbag not issue then definetly case
i have a hard case thats been in use for about 3 years and its got dings and dents all over it and some are if gig bag definetly wud been hitting the guitar but at that time i only travelled by car and pretty much everywhere i went i took my guitar

ps sorry poor english hope its still readable

I think the weight is not the problem... the problem i have with a case is, that you can't wear it on you shoulders. on not so far distances i usually take my bike and not the car.

While searching for cases, which would fit my Jackson, i've made an interesting discovery:

http://www.thomann.de/de/skb_sc58_soft_case_v_type.htm

This is a so called "Soft case" from SKB and it seems to be a hybrid of both worlds. :)
Maybe this would be a nice solution, but I'm not sure if this is just as good as a hardcase :?

What do you think about it?

the soft case from skb seems really to be a good solution for me. all the positive reviews i've read said, that it is a very nice case. I wish i could buy a soft case from Jackson, but unfortunately they don't sell them... anyway i think i've made my decision and i would like to thank you guys for your help! I'm gonna let you know how well the case works! ;)
