Hey,
I've had my Jackson Warrior MG (WRMG) for many years now and it's my first Floyd Rose-equipped guitar, albeit the Jackson licensed version. The guitar has EMG 81/85 pickups and black hardware, has the black finish with sort of faded green/grey patterns and was made in Japan.
1. I don't know what specific model the Floyd Rose is. All I know is that it's black, has the Jackson logo on it, and the text "License Under Floyd Rose Pats." written where the fine-tuners are.
I've never been satisfied with it because it's limited to mostly dives and can only be raised a few steps. The locking doesn't seem to work correctly either because despite stretching the strings, the locking nuts don't seem to affect anything and it easily goes out of tune. The bridge is perfectly aligned with the body and everything. Even after having screwed the locking nuts really tight, the tuning keys still affect the tuning on the entire strings.
2. This isn't how it's supposed to be, right?
So I've been considering changing the bridge for a very long time. It's the only thing concerning me in this otherwise great guitar. I'm wondering how much of a hassle that might be.
3. What bridges will be compatible? Budget is not a concern, I'm going for quality. Will an Original Floyd Rose work out?
4. How complex will the procedure be? Am I going to have to adjust/change anything else than just the bridge itself, and perhaps the locking nuts?
Thanks in advance!
