IIRC original retail was around $1249 USD, but they are no longer available.. The used market is a little difficult to call at the moment due to overall economic conditions.. I wouldn't recommend moving it, they are a limited edition and bound to reclaim their value as the Japanese Jacksons are no longer manufactured...

Why does japonese jacksons are no longer manufactured?

The x series are compared with those japonese in matters of quality?

Thanks

The company contracted to build Jackson Guitars filed for bankruptcy in December of 2011, for multiple reasons.. The complications of the tsunami, the intermittent power issues, and rumor has it their profit margin was not enough to sustain them through the compounding issues.. Personally, I have not had any exposure to any of the new Chinese products from either Jackson or Charvel, but I would think that Jackson has the finger on the pulse of their products and is making every attempt to maintain the integrity of the Jackson banner..

First of all, thanks for ansering.

I haven't heard yet about those chinese jacksons. I thought that after the korean and japonese models stoped being made, there was only indian and american models. What series are being made in china?

If i am not wrong, the indian x series came to substitute the profissional japonese series, yet i think that in matter of finishes the quality are now worst. In my oppinion some features improved (like neck-through-body construction in some models), others maybe not (basswood bodys), but the finishes are far from "stunning" as the web page says... Also, am i wrong or the floyd rose special is not bettter than the licenced floyds?

Whats your oppinion about this matters?
:)

First of all, I was mistaken.. The new Charvels are Chinese and the Jackson X Series is made in India.. I have never encountered a Floyd Rose Special, so I have no information to add as to their relation to licensed Floyd bridges.. As for woods, there are many new international trade laws that prevent materials from being exported and imported so I am certain the new construction materials are chosen by availability (in mass), and what can be legally moved across international borders..
