Hi guys! :)

I'm a proud owner of two beautiful Jackson guitars. The KVXMG and the KVXT. I've put in both guitars the EMG 81 & 60 combo and now they are almost equal. As you probably know, the KVXT got a String-Thru-Body construction and the KVXMG a licensed Floyd Rose "Special" Tremolo. I like the tone of the KVXT much better, because it's brighter and clearer. The KVXMG sounds in comparison a bit darker and more dull (and no, it's not because of the strings. they are both the same and they are new ones  ). However I searched for a solution in many forums and I think two solutions sounded very logic, but I don't want to try them out blindly.

1. Replacing the old "special" licensed tremolo with the ORIGINAL floyd rose tremolo will incease brightness and clearness, because the metal of the ORIGINAL floyd rose got more quality.

2. Replacing the sustain block or "big block" under the floyd rose with another one, made of "better" metal, will affect the tone of the guitar. Also, the tone depends on which metal you choose for the block.

I hope you can help me with my problem and I apology for any language mistakes I've made :D

I have yet to encounter the Floyd Rose Special, but I have heard from a few who have them that there is a lot of room for improvement.. As for changing the sustain block, brass seems to be the material of choice.. Titanium is another option, but I hear of more people switching to brass.. Might want to check and see if the post spacing is the same on the "Special" and the "Original" are the same before you wind up buying something you can't use..

I think i might buy the Original Floyd Rose anyway, because of tuning stability. It'll hopefully increase the tone too.

The OFR already has brass blocks right out of the box, it's only thinner than the FloydUpgrade blocks and nickel plated or whatever.
