I'm using Dean Markley jazz 12-54 strings on a jackson warrior mg at b-standard. It is having trouble holding tuning and was wondering if the strings are too thick for the guitar to handle...any speculations???

Not to insult your intelligence, but make sure the Floyd lock nut blocks are on with the ridges running parallel to the strings.. Also check to make sure they seat all the way in the slots on the nut as those heavy gauge strings may not bottom out in the lock nut. Make sure your string blocks on the trem end are tight, but don't over wrench them or they will crack.. If you still have issues, it may be a good idea to have an actual tech do a set up. I never had strings that heavy on a Floyd, so I am guessing here..

ATM I've got 12-56 tuned to Drop C on my RR3 and I don't have any problems with tuning stability so I don't think the strings are too big as such. Give all of MC's suggestions a try first because that could well be the cause of your issues, if that doesn't help I would try giving your guitar a full setup, either done by a tech or yourself if you're confident. If there's an issue with your intonation, or your neck relief or even your action they could contribute to tuning problems.
