I am new to playing, but just bought a used dinky, but it has no serial number. I is Red with tiger maple front, and duncan design pick ups, a floyd rose lic Special Double Locking 2-Point Tremolo Reverse Shark Tooth •Fingerboard: Rosewood and on the back it is stamped ED?

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Bob,

The full stamp probably reads "USED", take a closer look.. If it does, it is a refurbished guitar.. The serial number is removed because it is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty any more and to prevent anyone from marketing it as new..

I was told it was RED by a dealer, but like I said I don't know, and he also said it was an early Dinky thats why there was no serial#. I didn't buy it from him, but he seemed real interested in it, but I live 150 miles from his store. I am trying to up load photos but it won't let me.

Really? The dealer doesn't know Jacksons, then.. All import Jacskons have a serial number, early ones would have it on the neck plate, neck through have them at the bottom of the finger board, and the newer ones have the serial on the back of the head stock ( the imports anyway).. USA Jacksons have them on neck plates or stamped at the end of the finger board.. It is very rare that one appears without it. If it does it is usually an employee project and still has the Made In USA on the head stock..

Going to try and post again the photos, plus I would like to know what kind of dinky it is.
Thanks.

If you look real close you can just see the ED at the top of the back of the head.

DX10D... That is the typical "USED" stamp size and location..

Yes.. Most likely returned to an authorized dealer, then returned to Jackson for repair. Could be something as simple as a bad switch or shipping damage.. The blue wire grounding the volume pot to the trem looks suspect to me, I think it was an electronic issue..

Well it plays nice, but it humms louder until you touch a metal part on the guitar, so now I am thinking it may still have a problem with a ground.
