Posted this above too in the Adrian Smith SDX sig thread.
I just recieved my SDX,very nice guitar, great set-up nice look and the fret work was top notch for a guitar in this price range.
Having said that my guitar was damaged when my local dealer got it and the tone pot had to be replaced, now it seems as though I'm getting a "ghost harmonic" from the single coils that is pretty unpleasant.(Strange over-tone??)
Does anybody have knowledge of this and what is the proper repair for it.
Is there a schem for that particular wiring harness,so I check my pick-up outputs and phase for the single coils to HB wiring.
Any info would be great.
This is my first "Strat" style of guitar having plenty of exp. with the big "G" brand I'm really looking forward to putting in some time with this guitar!

Considering that this is your first strat style guitar, I am going to assume that this is your first experience with single coil pickups.. What you may actually be hearing is the inspiration for Seth Lover's invention of the humbucker.. That annoying single coil hum.. If you have had any humbucker that was coil tapped, this doesn't happen because of the opposing magnets in the humbucker.. See if this diagram helps you any, but it may take a bit of detective work to translate any color code differences.. The second link gives a lot of options if you are looking for something interesting.. Good luck and hope these help...
