Hi there

I am new to this forum but have registered as i am on a hunt for a bit of knowledge on the following guitar. i have always wanted to own one of either the Jackson/Charvel Surfcaster models from back in the early 90's and the one in particular i have always been hunting is the Blonde NOS SC1 , they seem to be like gold dust! I thought i had finally located one on a site the other day but turns out the site is a scam .... typical. I wondered if anyone knew how many of this particular model were produced so it gives me a more realistic idea of how likely i am to eventually locate one. I think both Jackson and Charvel did the same Blonde model, although i might be wrong as i have only seen the Jackson version so far and it is my mission to finally get my hands on one of these! any info would be much appreciated. thanks

Yes, both Charvel and Jackson did the Surfcaster, but they aren't easy to find.. And, to be honest, I have never seen one with a maple board.. I think Charvel made them for 2 years, and Jackson made them for 2 years, so they may not be easy to find.. And, to be honest, I think they are a lot more popular now than they were then..

i certainly agree they are a lot more sought after now than they were in the time they were being made, the models by Charvel and the Korean ones and the Blonde one in particular i posted are only ever sold once in a blue moon and always go for well over a thousand pounds. I found a Charvel model in Orange a guy here in England was getting rid of on a selling site for around £700 but it's the Blonde one in particular i want to finally get my hands on. I just wondered how many of the blonde one i posted an image of earlier were produced and by posting on here i was hoping a Jackson expert/insider might be able to help me. Is there a decent contact at Jackson who could help me find out, like an email or anything like that anyone is aware of to get the information??

Considering the Surfcaster model you are referring to was made in Japan, and the factory that built them for Jackson is out of business, I doubt highly that there is that much information readily available.. I would think they are fairly rare, though..
