I'm sure this may have been asked about many times but, my Jackson rr24xt makes a buzzing sound when plugged in although it stops when I touch the scratch plate. My friend also had the same issue and had his sent back to where he bought it for repair and they had a look and said that they couldn't see anything wrong with any wiring.

The buzzing is a grounding issue, it could be the guitar or your cord..
