the first batch of this series including the 7 string version were made with basswood, it was then switched to mahogany, also the bridge pickup was routed too far from the bridge in the 7 string models, I'm not 100% sure about this problem with the bridge in the 6 string....in the 7 string all models with the last 4 digits of the serial number 0500 and higher this problem was addressed and the bridge was corrected as well as the wood being changed to mahogany, but anything lower than 0500 will have basswood
