Hi everyone - Happy to be a new Jackson owner after having to sell my beloved '91 USA Soloist several years back... The new SL2 is a fair replacement, for sure.
And I love it... However, I am very curious why they used these tiny little pots, when they assembled this model.
When I received the guitar, I took the Duncans out (I just happened to need the JB and '59 for my Pro Mod San Dimas as I'm selling it) and installed the DiMarzio set that were the results of my "pickup roll," over the last few months... It sounds great, but I'm getting some noise from the neck pup. I just opened it up to start diagnosing and looked at those pots and decided to replace them with some standard, larger, ones.
If anyone could tell me if they know of a justification for the use of these smaller pots - if there is any benefit to them (or to the larger ones), or any experience with these at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
