since I am an avid Jackson collector and not part of the marketing team, I wouldn't know, but maybe someone else will see this and let us all know.

I would assume that if they are made on the same line as the JS series and NOT 3grand like the DE sigs, then everyone will see the 3grand versions first for the rich folks and to tease the rest of us, then a year later the cheap ones will hit the market.

Thank you for your reply! I would hope they come out soon because DE released a video a few months ago saying that they would but no actual release date. Im looking to buy anew bass because right now im stuck with an ibanez starter one. :| Jacksons basses either run too cheap or too expensive. Im looking for a neck thru with active pickups or possibly just the active pickups in the range of $1000. Any suggestions? I play mostly thrash metal i.e. (megadeth, metallica, anthrax, overkill)

why would a neckthru be the only thing you want? the CBX-V is a great unit for 1/2 of that.

and the only NT's that Jackson makes are 3grand and all DE sigs --blech!
it's like your paying 500 for the bass and another 2500 for the blue case and his COA with a sig on it.

I heard the pickups on the cmg are emg hz's which are passive but the eq is active? Im not sure and i heard that neck thrus give a much better sound. I want to see what the kellybird has to offer but if it doesnt come out soon I think i will look else where for a bass. Also do you know the difference between the CMG concert bass which sells for around 700-800 and the CMG XV (500) Also what is the differnce between the CMG X series basses and J series?

so I don't have to type the same paragraph of the same stuff, the info you seek that is right here on the Jackson site in each units description for the differences in country of manufacture, woods/electronics/hardware between the CMG, and the CBX/JS3.

as long as it is not a DE sig for 3grand,....me 2 :)
just like the CMG for years it was the only concert bass worth owning, then came the JS and killed all it's value. used to be you couldnt touch a used CMG for less than 500, now CMG owners can't even "give" them away. I bought 2 of them in the past couple years for less than 300.

I know it can't happen again, but I wish they could re-issue the Firebird series.

but one thing that they COULD re-issue is the Kelly bass.

yes it is and what a huge disappointment.

a block neck on a Fender---oops I meant a Jackson ?-- p.l.e.a.s.e :x
I'll buy one ONLY if they used the same neck pocket and I can put a REAL Jackson fin neck on it in 5 minutes.

Imagine how stupid a concert bass would look with a block inlay neck ---ewwwww..

of course this is my opinion only, and if you like it, go for it.
