I'm new to Jackson guitars, why does it matter if it was made in Japan or not?

The early 90s Japanese made Professional (Pro) series have often been referred to as high quality. Import production moved around and/or expanded to India and Korea ...and then expanded back to Japan. There seems to be a perception by some people that Japanese imports are somehow better or that later Japanese imports might be equivalent in quality to earlier ones. Does it matter?? Probably not and it's not going to impove the depreciated value of a used import.
