Bought my son a kV for Christmas but I'm not sure what kind of KV it is. All I know is that it has a Indian Cedro body, CVR , FR tremolo, bolt on maple neck and rosewood fingerboard and inlays I've never seen on a Jackson. Anyway here's some pics:

And here is him testing it out.

Anyone knows exactly what series KV it is? The receipt says Jackson king v dlx. I looked it up didn't find a KV that looks like it, especially the inlays.

Help!

Here's the serial if this helps. Apparently it's hard to find anything via serial number on Jacksons made after 2001.

That is a Shuriken model, named after the inlays on the neck, I have the same guitar and I love it! It plays awesome, and the stock pickups actually sound good. I e-mailed jackson a few weeks back for a spec sheet and they never got back to me. There were three shuriken models released the king v silver w/black bevels, rhoads v black w/red bevels (looks like Kevin Bond model), and quilted trans red dinky. I read somewhere that they were a guitar center exclusive, and only 200-250 of each model were made. Looks like your boy and I got 2 of the few :D . I got mine on sale for $365.00 out the door. I honestly think there are no guitars that even comes close to the "Shuriken V" models for quality and features in the $300-$400 price range.

Thanks for the replies guys! That thread was great! So looks like I got my kid a rare entry level Jackson. I too tried to score a gig bag but the guy said it didn't come with one. After I bought a line 6 spider IV 15 amp, a strap, deltalab clip-on tuner, I finally got a discount on a nice Dean hard case. I could not believe GC would not throw a set up there as well. I was told it's 25 bucks for a setup. Oh well, the factory setup is decent, a bit low action but it's not bad.

My kid can't put the thing down, he's starting guitar lessons next week but all he wants to play is metal! \m/ \m/ He has natural talent but he needs some direction. Here's him trying to play Symphony Of Destruction. I found it funny that he was playing a Megaeth song on a silver KV. :D

I saw them in a catalog for Guitar Center one time but I can't remember what model it was. I remember they had one at the Guitar Center I go to and I was gonna try it out. One minute I looked and it was there and then when I finally decided to try it out, it was gone and I looked around to see if anyone was playing it but it was payed for and out the door in a matter of seconds. It was crazy. Atleast the kid's playing the V in the right position

My son now loves it's a "ninja guitar" LOL! Good luck finding another one! I think it's cool it's such a limited production model. I like the inlays.
