Finally found one of these (A lime green KVXMG) In my local shop, and I must say, It's a good guitar. Very comfortable and good balance to it. Not without flaws though (I am NOT an emg fan.) As some of the other posters were saying, the biggest flaw with this series is the fact that there's no Kelly model. I'd buy it in a heartbeat... even if it were that (IMHO) unnatractive lime green.

I agree with you. I would be a bit more sold on the new X series if they had either Alder or Mahogany. Those both have way better tone and better sustain. Especially Mahogany. I love all the specs of these new Axes but the Basswood body is the only thing I'm kinda iffy about. I have a Basswood body Jackson right now (From the old X series) and the sustain isn't great. It cuts out after 2 seconds of holding a note.

nah the current x series will be great as of the neck-through construction.(btw have you ever heard a guitar with a basswood body and a emg 81|85 set?pure evil tone...

I will have no doubt that the new X series will be killer. I was so stoked that they came out with it but I see other companies with guitars that are about the same pirce with Mahogany and Alder bodies. I'm not saying Basswood completely blows but the sustain is a bit weaker than other woods. I actually haven't but I would be willing to try. I'm more of a Seymour Duncan guy though.

I have an LTD with basswood body and EMG's and when compared to an Alder body guitar with EMG's it sounds like a toy. Basswood isn't actually bad wood and combining it with a neck thru maple neck and rosewood fingerboard seems like it'd be a sweet tone combination. Oh also sustain issue could be the pickups and the bolt on neck it probably has.

Hi everyone!
Just got my Jackson KVXT with quicksilver finish four weeks ago and I think this guitar is amazing. Even though the guitar comes with EMG HZ Pickups, I'm not disappointed at all. It was very surprising to me, that these pickups actually kick ass. I still prefer the active ones, because the passivs are a little bit muddy. This is my first King V and it won't be the last! :D
The balance is just perfectly fitting for me. I replaced the Jackson Tuners with some Planet Waves tuners, which doesn't mean the Jackson tuners weren't great. They did a great job, but I prefer locking-tuners. The quicksilver finsish is just stunning
One thing I didn't know was, that these guitars come with Dunlop Straploks, which is great because I already used them on my other guitars.
The basswood body made me struggle if i should buy this guitar, but the sustain is great.

Finally, I recommend this guitar (or the whole X Series) to everybody, because it's awesome! 8-)

I want to thank Jackson Guitars for that Series, because they really nailed it this time! For this price, there won't be better guitars!

Greets!
