im getting my first tube amp and i wanted to ask which one is a better option:
blackstar HT-20 or peavey 6050+ 112.
i don't really mind about the watts and i play some thrash, death, heavy metal but i want good cleans too, so which one is better?

Sorry for the late post. I haven't been on in awhile and had to get re-activated. I'll try to help ya but by now you've probably already picked something up. I can't say enought about Peavey. Peavey IMO is the name to get as far as reliability goes. Although I have noticed a decline in the quality of the shells of their amps. Still, you really can't go wrong with Peavey. Blackstar on the other hand really impressed me. The shop I use to work at started carrying them before I left and you get a lot of amp for a great price. From what I understand the Blackstar guys are the ones that worked for Marshall before Marshall got bought out by Korg. So they know what they're doing. Be as it may, they are still a fairly new company and I don't know much about them as far as reliability goes. They seem to be built well, but who knows what's inside of there. They sound awesome, I'll tell ya that! Enough so that I'd probably take a chance on the Blackstar over the Peavey. Maybe:) Go try 'em out somewhere. Of course you've probably done so already by now. Hope this helps if it's not too late.

It also depends on what Cab you're playing through as well... But I'd say its pretty even.... Blackstar are an amazing amplifier, Cant wait to save up and get 1 and blast it to next tuesday!!!

But that being said, Peavey is also a 100% Stand out brand... Either way you're going to get great Distortion and Great cleans... Listen to some Firewind/New ozzy osbourne for cleans and distortion through a blackstar, and i think trivium and bullet for my valentine use the Peavey... good luck!!
