There's a really delicious deal on a Jackson SL3 located at Raleigh, NC- it is selling under $500. Possibly the most lucrative of the guitars on sale now.

How much does the Soloist weigh in a hard case? That may also decide shipping charges. I wish to keep it under $150. These store managers offer outrageous shipping costs, so a forwarding agency may be my best option.

Guitar, case, and packing material should be around 25 lbs. (55 kg).

Thanks for the hint.

I had asked about the wine red Jackson SDK1 at Reno, and the manager told me there's a chip off the front finish, but otherwise it is in decent condition. It has an original Floyd Rose too. The serial number is 003883. Is this a poplar or ash guitar? Would it be worth the purchase and restoration?

SDK1 is poplar bodied. Wether or not it is worth restoration is up to you, though..

I just recently bought a used black soloist SL2H for $799. It is in excellent condition, no case. Their original used price tag was $1349, then it dropped to $1299, $1099 and finally $799. I'm happy with my purchase and I'm financing it over 18 mos. It joins my KV-1 Dave Mustaine guitar in my collection.

Another one - Jackson Dinky Black with Red Flames - serial number 9841899, selling at $400 with a padded gig bag. Is this a good price?

This one doesn't come with a hard case, and that will raise the price by $70-100. Do you trust GC with shipping in regular packaging? I may opt for a forwarding agency- as that's the only way I can get the shipping costs down, and they use TNT and DHL amongst other carriers, who are the most reasonably priced.

That's a DK2 in the Hot Rod Flame finish.. The DK2 is a killer guitar.. Yes, that is a good price, and Guitar Center ships guitars all the time (you can get them to ship guitars store to store for you, as well). I would think they have that down to a science by now.. Just make sure the package is insured so if there is any issue, it is covered..
