I was gonna mention that too if it was brought up. That happened right before they offered him, so kind of a double whammy for him. I think Jackson has regrouped though and I'd be surprised if they didn't pick him up again soon. Oddly enough, Dave and Phil Collen are two of my favorite guitar players in my two favorite bands. Just so happened that they both played Jacksons. They hung on to Phil though. Good move. I think he was the only one.

I just read Dave's autobiography, Mustaine: A metal memoire. It was a very good book, very entertaining. There was no mention of the switch away from Jackson guitars. I was hoping the details would be spilled in the latter chapters leading up to current time. I think Dave chose the high road in regards to this. By leaving the whole thing out there was no need to open old wounds or bash old allies. But I would still like to hear what happened straight from the source and not some preconceived company line. I would also like to see Dave back. As a Jackson fan and a huge Megadeth fan(see user name) I can't get past seeing Dave holding a Dean, it's just not right. I don't really like the shape of the headstock on Dave's new Deans, it takes away from the look of a true KV.
I have heard the stories of Dave trying to buy Jackson, but never knew if they were true. I guess they are.

Can't wait to see Mustaine coming back to Jackson when he's 60 or 70. How exciting.

I think things are looking good for him coming back to Jackson one day. He loved his Jacksons. He was suppose to go back to them and remake his sig KV and the Y2KV. Dean didn't really have a big name at the time because of Dime's death(R.I.P.) so they swooped in at the last minute and must've given him a pretty good deal. I like the Deans better than the ESP's but it's just not the same. Back to my point. Jackson has put a lot of focus on Megadeth the last couple of years considering they don't have Dave M on their roster. Giving Broderick and Ellefson signature models was huge I think. And they weren't just stock guitars with a name slapped on them. The Broderick guitar is very unique and obviously had a lot of R+D put into it. A very nice guitar for sure and available in 6 and 7 strings. 7 strings were never a big Jackson thing and now they're coming out with even more sevens! And Ellefson, well, it seems they gave him his old sig back and have really let him run with getting their bass line up and running again. They didn't have squat for a few years as far as Bass' go. Now they've got all kinds and Custom models. And 5 strings again finally. I've been very impressed with where Fender is letting Jackson go with things. When it comes to metal guitars they're gonna be on top again where they belong. For them to do all of this stuff with Broderick and Ellefson and not have a plan to get Mustaine back in? I just don't see it. I'll be one of the first to say, Hell Yeah!, It's about time Dave came home They're doing some different V versions for various artists, but they're saving the King V still. Coincidence? I don't thing so.

He was pretty respectable to ESP when he left and I have a feeling he really didn't like those. His Dean guitars are so close to his King V's there isn't much he could say lol. They even have what is very close to sharkfins. I would've left the dots off If I were him though. I'd also be a way better guitar player if I were him haha, and not sitting here at my computer screwing around or playing a DK2M. Which I Looove btw. I'll get a USA Jackson one day.
