Hi, I am wondering if there is something I can do about the volume issue I have with my DK2.

There isn't really a gradual build up of volume when trying to play at a very low volume with the existing knob. Are there better pots that are used on the more expensive Jacksons? it just seems that when I am at the lowest volume, it isn't really low at all.

I know I can get a volume pedal but thought I would check here to see ifg anyone had any insight first.

Thanks!

That's the difference between 250k, and 500k pots.
also if you have active pickups.

the 250k pots let you roll off of the gain.
otherwise its almost like an ON/OFF knob rather then volume knob.

Just my opinion...

Thanks for replying! So which are in the DK2? the 250 or 500? Which ones should I replace them with in order to get a smoother transition do you think?

Just saw a video on YouTube - perhaps an audio-taper pot is what is needed? Not sure what is in the guitar now.

The DK2 came stock with 250k pots. If you want finer volume control, you need a 500k audio taper pot (linear pots are for tone control). If you go with the 500k, I would advise changing both to that value.
