Hello,
I have a Jackson Soloist I purchased brand new almost 2 years ago--3/16/2011. Although I've been playing guitar for years, I never ventured out of playing rhythm until I bought my Soloist. So I've been practicing scales and soloing a lot. Lately, I've noticed a tremolo sound on the G string that is slightly noticeable at around the 12th/13th fret. The tremolo sound increases and peaks at the 16th fret and decreases as you move further past the 16th fret. The tremolo sound is not noticeable at all when playing clean, but it's quite noticeable when I use my distortion pedal.
I don't know if that issue has been there since I bought it or if it's developed through use. I've looked around the internet for answers or a fix but to no avail. Has anyone had a similar issue or experienced this with their Jackson or any other guitar? It doesn't seem to be a common issue. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

It is most likely a harmonic response in the springs for the trem. Try stuffing your trem cavity with tissue paper a la Steve Vai and see if that helps any. If that does the trick, there are vibration dampening springs and accessories available. Best of luck with your continuing advancement..
