Hello all,
I just picked up my new SL2Q about 3 days ago and was in the process of setting it up. After a pickup swap and string change I started to lock down the strings. Then, I noticed that the clamp over the low E and A strings would not tighten. It seems that the locking nut is partially stripped.
I'm quite impressed with the overall build quality, and this seems like a random annoyance that could happen to anyone but I need to get this fixed before the thing is playable.
I tried to throw on a spare R3 nut I had, but it is too tall. Odd considering the Jackson website says this model is supposed to use an R3 as well. Then, I checked the old nut and surprisingly it is an R2 and not a standard OFR nut (does not say made in Germany).
It also seems there is quite a long wait on OFR black-chrome nuts at every online retailer I've found, would a floyd special nut also fit? If anyone knows exactly what nut would be a direct replacement for this it would be appreciated.

Took a trip to Lowes and they surprisingly had a bolt that was exactly the same as the OFR string lock bolt, only 2mm longer. So, it's now catching the threads. This is a good temporary fix. I'd still like to order a new nut if I can figure out what the right one is.
These bolt also seem to be a little heavier duty than the ones sold with floyds. Perhaps they'd be a good upgrade.

If it is new, it should be covered under warranty.. Check with your dealer or search for an authorized Jackson repair shop.
