Hi.

I hope someone can help. I have a couple of issues around fret buzzing.

I have tried everything I can think of and am getting know where. What happens is when I hit the A string on the 13th fret the note does not sound and I'm getting just a massive load of fret buzz. I tried raising the action on the guitar and that fixes the problem but then I have issues playing the guitar with the action high.

I have adjusted the truss rod and have put a very small amount of bow so there is a tiny gap when I check.

I don't have the action on my guitars ridiculously low but I like the playability of a low action. It only seems to be the one place on the neck where this happens.

My only conclusion is could it be a fret that is higher than the rest that is the culprit?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like a high fret in your description, but is the 13th on the A the only place it happens? What about the other 5 strings? It is pretty odd that a fret would only be high on one string..

yeah its weird it is only that string on that fret that is really a problem, slight fret buzz from the other strings but it doesnt come through on the amp!!

I have no idea whats causing it or the reason behind it. I have even changed strings as well.

It has to be a high spot on the frets.. It doesn't make sense that it would be just one string affected, but in mass production, you never really know..

Awesome. Thanks. So the best bet would be to get the frets checked and levelled.

Well the only other weird thing that happens is when I play the guitar with heavy gain. The low e string gives off a very clear metallic twang sound on frets from the headstock up to the body of the guitar.

It's really apparent on single notes. Sounds like fret buzz.

Could this also be fixed with fret levelling do you think ?

It should be resolved with the fret leveling process, because the guitar will need a complete set up after the fret dress is complete.. It should play like a totally different animal..
