Hi All, I bought the above guitar recently and have to say im delighted with it, a real good guitar to Play.

Just wondered about the Floyd Rose, ive never had any experience using one before, let alone making any modifications, but the tremela arm feels just a wee bit too tight for me, when i see videos on youtube a lot of poeple that use them seem to have far more flexibility that i do.

Dont get me wrong i really like it, but id like it just to be a little easier to handle, seems to me that there is a lot of tension on it. Strange given i have nothing to compare it too, but thats how I feel!!

It is set up properly, so just wondered if i could just open the back and make any adjustments at all? What should I consider, because ive never done this before and I dont want to end up with more problems that its worth.

i did go to a shop and they set it up just after I bought it, but I dont feel they done a very good job and its the only place where I live that i know does that!!

Davie

Hmm, well I have 2 floyd equipped guitars that had a "loose" bar and I disliked it very much. The ideal bar should be very stiff but still able to be positioned. I'd say you're in good shape, a wobbley bar is bad factory quality.

Im not looking to make a huge change, just a very minor one!! Is that how i would do it though, just by adjusting the springs a tiny bit?

If it's just the bar/arm that is too tight or loose, you can just buy a replacement bar+arm socket. Pull off the spring cavity and you should see a hex screw on the underside of the floyd bridge. Loosen it and remove the socket and tighten on the new one. I've done this twice my friend and it'll take 2 minutes. The springs are the tension forces acting on the entire bridge. I'm not sure you can adjust them other than adding or removing them.
