The difference between the Floyd and Kahler are tremendous. I owned a San Dimas Charvel ,that I bought New in 85' with a Kahler Deluxe tremelo ,and even though it lacked the dynamic action and insanity of the Floyd ,it was incredibly easy to re-string ,and it rarely ever ,broke strings!!! A great piece of Hardware ,but not for the Evil Scientists IMO!!!! I also had an 82' Original Charvel ,that came with a stock Fender type Bridge ,that I replaced with an Old School Floyd. I must say I am pretty Impressed with the Jackson Copy On my DK2M, but I am definitely upgrading it to a German Floyd ASAP,just to make the axe more valuable .I believe ,with a real Floyd ,it will be almost as good as a USA Guitar.
