First bass post in Sept of 2011 and absolutely no mention of the Chris Beattie sig. bass yet???

So I'll be the first. I'm thinking of buying one as they are starting to go dirt cheap on feebay. A brand new $1,250 bass going for way less? Ok what's wrong with it? The reviews I've read, whether real or not, seem to indicate they are pretty dog gone nice for the right price. Some reviews indicated list price was pretty up there but what is a good price?

Does anyone here own one and if so what are your perceptions? Likes/Dislikes? Opinions & tips for mods or what to expect, things to keep in mind, or to look out for?

I'm curious what exactly this $1,266 bass has going for it mojo-wise when you can pick up a JS3 or DE CB-X or even a JS3V in the 500 buck-a-roo range?

Is the more than double price over the other bolt-on neck guitars due to the compound-radius fingerboard and (interesting) mace inlays? And what's up with the mace and cross mace anyway? I thought they were drum sticks at first. Can someone explain this? Is it the "Don't Tase Me Bro" thing???

At any rate like I said, it looks like a pretty decent axe, and I don't think I can pass it up at the secondary market rate, but I am just scratching my head at what puts it in the $ class from the others.

Am I missing something here?

hahaha well the folks at the JCF and TB know I have so many damn Jacksons it's not funny, but nope, never had one. I never liked the 00's "concert" shape to begin with, but as far as tonal and playability, I'll bet it is just as nice as anything else they had.

same with the CMG, once the JS3's came out anyone who has one and tries to get more than 500 is insane.
